teeth whitening or dental bondingIf you’re dissatisfied with your smile, you have a number of options for improving it. Finding the right option, however, depends on the nature and severity of your smile’s imperfections. Perhaps the most common cause of complaint when it comes to cosmetic dentistry is stained or discolored teeth.

While the condition seems simple enough, tooth discoloration can occur for a number of reasons and to varying degrees. If your teeth are blemished by stains or discoloration, then your dentist can help you restore the youthful vibrancy to your smile with professional teeth whitening, or in some cases, cosmetic dental bonding.

Professional Teeth-Whitening

Minor tooth stains are sometimes avoidable, since they can form from the food and beverages you consume every day. In some cases, an over-the-counter teeth-whitening product may provide adequate results, but more often than not, these products are not strong enough to noticeably make a difference.

Instead, we offer a custom-designed, professional-strength teeth-whitening kit that you can take home and apply whenever your schedule allows. The trays are yours to keep, so you can touch up your smile whenever you think it’s necessary.

Cosmetic Dental Bonding

If your smile is afflicted by intrinsic tooth stains, which generate from within the tooth’s structure, then they may not respond well (or at all) to chemical bleaching. For moderate discoloration that cannot be addressed with professional teeth-whitening, we may recommend cosmetic dental bonding.

Using the same composite resin that is used for dental fillings, bonding involves securing the white material to your tooth, hardening it, and then sculpting it to match the shape of your teeth. Aside from moderate to severe tooth stains, dental bonding can also help restore a chipped tooth by replacing the missing corner/edge.
